NEW AYRSHIRE COUNTY EVENTS - Entry forms for two new competitions sent to Club Secretaries

The entry forms for two new Ayrshire county competitions have been sent by email to Club Secretaries today.


2016 sees the introduction of an Ayrshire Scratch Team Knockout Competition and and Ayrshire Handicap Team Knockout competition.

Entry to both competitions is open to all member clubs of the Ayrshire Golf Association, with only one entry per club.

Matches will be played on a one off, home or away, basis, depending on the draw, and will continue throughout the season with a final played on a neutral venue in September.

Matches will comprise two singles and one foursomes tie, with all ties being played to a finis, continuing into extra holes of necessary.

There is no limit to the number of players a club can use throughout the competitions, and no requirement for the same player or players to represent the club in every round.

There will be a redraw after completion of each round of the competitions, to determining home advantage in subsequent rounds.

It has been decided that there will be no entry fee for either competition this year, and if the events prove successful it is anticipated they will become a fixture in the calendar of events in future years.

The Association hope that the introduction of these events will give member clubs an opportunity to involve more of their players in gaining representative experience on behalf of their club in county competition.

All clubs should note that the closing date for this years competitions is 28th FEBRUARY 2016.

Any Club Secretary who is not in receipt of the email and two entry forms sent today should make contact with the Area Secretary for further copies to be forwarded.
