WEST OF SCOTLAND INTER COUNTY UNDER 18 LEAGUE - Ayrshire team for final fixture announced

A strong Ayrshire team has been announced for the final match of the season in the West Of Scotland Inter County Under 18 League, where the county side travel to meet Renfrewshire at Old Ranfurly on Sunday 1st September, with the match teeing of at the earlier than usual time of 10.00 a.m.

In the latest two fixtures which were scheduled for 25th August, Lanarkshire lost their unbeaten record, going down by 5 - 3 to Dumbartonshire at Clober and were overtaken at the top of the table by Renfrewshire, who were conceded their match against Stirlingshire who could not raise a team due to a fixture clash. Under the present rules of the competition, the tie is recorded as an 8 - 0 win to Renfrewshire.

GIRLS GOLF - West Kilbride Girls Open Day results

The West Kilbride Girls' Open Day which was held on Saturday 24th August. The weather was beautiful, no wind and warm sunshine, just perfect conditions for a round of golf, writes June Kerr.
 
Best Scratch Score of the day and winner of the Nancy Chisholm Trophy was Kirsten Brown (Strathaven) with an 82.
 
Best Nett Score and winner of the Kandy Bar Cup was Jennifer Rankine (Haggs Castle) with a nett 71
 
The  winner of the Pre-Handicap 6 hole competition and the June Kerr Trophy was home player Claire McLaughlin (West Kilbride) with 35.

GREENLEES TROPHY - Latest positions

With a handful of matches still to be played, Milngavie have secured the Greenlees Trophy and Division 1 title in the West Of Scotland Woman's Inter Club League, thwarting Loudoun's attempt at winning three successive divisional titles.

With all their fixtures completed, Loudoun and Kilmarnock Barassie lie second and third respectively in the table, although Ranfurly Castle, Troon Ladies and Cathkin Braes have a fixture remaining in their bid to move up the table and overtake Kilmarnock Barassie.

At the foot of the table, Largs have one fixture remaining in which to boost their total and stave off the threat of relegation, whilst the other Ayrshire club in the division, Troon ladies, sit comfortably in mid table, with one match still to play.
