AYRSHIRE SCRATCH LEAGUES - Irvine move further ahead in title bid

Irvine Golf Club boosted their hopes of winning Division 1 of the Ayrshire Scratch leagues this week with  a 5 - 1 win over Troon Welbeck over the Bogside course.

The win allowed Irvine to open a six point gap at the top of the table, ahead of Kilmarnock Barassie.

 In Division 3, New Cumnock had a 4 - 2 home win over Girvan and a 3 - 3 home draw with league leaders Troon St Meddans, leaving the New Cumnock team trailing just behind St Meddans on the chase for the title.

In Division 4, Ayr Dalmilling shocked league leaders Rowallan Castle with a 4.5 1.5 win ay the Ayr course, and another home win, by 5 - 1, against near neighbours Tam O Shanter boosted Ayr Dalmilling's title hopes, leaving them just two points behind Rowallan Castle, with a game in hand.
