The remaining first round matches and some second round matches were completed on Tuesday 12th April at the ScottishBoys Championship, being held at Dunbar.
Of the five remaining Ayrshire players in round 1, three were defeated whilst the remaining two, Jack McCluskey (Ayr Belleisle) and boys internationalist Jack McDonald (Kilmarnock Barassie) won comfortably and now meet each other in round two on Wednesday morning.
Greg Telfer (Prestwick St Cuthbert) was the first Ayrshire casualty of the day, losing by 3 & 2 to Fraser Thain (West Linton) and he was closely followed by Patrick Timmons (Kilmarnock Barassie) who lost out by 5 & 4 to Sam Kiloh (Portlethen).
Also making a first round exit on Tuesday was Colin Currie (Kilmarnock Barassie) who was edged out on the final green by George Duncan (Windyhill).
Jack McCluskey (Ayr Belleisle) stopped the run of bad results with a 6 & 5 win over Michael Boddie (Dunbar) and Jack McDonald (Kilmarnock Barassie) was equally impressive in his 6 & 4 win over Fergus Sanderson (Blairgowrie), to set up the all Ayrshire second round tie.
The first of the second round matches began on Tuesday morning.
Callum Gorrie (Kilmarnock Barassie) bowed out of the championship in round 2, defeated 5 & 4 by Martin Buchan (Balbirnie Park).
The first Ayrshire player through to the third round was Ayrshire Boys matchplay Champion David Wilson (Troon Welbeck) who beat Greg Paterson (Ranfurly Castle) by 3 & 2 to set up a third round tie against Cameron Farrell (Cardross).
Louis Murray (Troon Welbeck) was unable to repeat his performance of Monday, going down by 3 & 2 to Sam Burgess (Nairn) in round 2.
Euan Walker (Kilmarnock Barassie) joined David Wilson in round 3 with a 3 & 2 win over Alasdair McDougall (Elderslie) and now plays Aodan Donnelly (Turnhouse) in the third round.
The remaining second round, and all third round matches are scheduled to be completed on Wednesday.
Blair Gavin (Kilmarnock Barassie), Euan Henderson (Kilmarnock Barassie), Callum Beveridge (Troon Welbeck will be bidding for a place in round three alongside Wilson, Walker and the winner of the McCluskey Vs. McDonald match.
