Finlay Watt (West Kilbride) narrowly lost out on a notable West of Scotland double on Thursday the 30th of July at Falkirk Golf Club when he was edged out on the final green of the West of Scotland Boys Matchplay Championship final by Oliver Gill (Lanark).
Having won the West of Scotland Junior Strokeplay Championship earlier in the week, Finlay booked his place in the final with a semi-final win at the first extra hole on Thursday morning, the 30th of July, over Thomas Watson (Old ranfurly) before being defeated by a single hole in Thursday afternoon's final.
