AYRSHIRE SCRATCH LEAGUES - Division one title race goes to the wire

The race for the Division 1 title in the 2013 Ayrshire Scratch Leagues is going right to the wire, with four of the six teams still in with a chance of taking the championship with only two matches remaining to be played.

Loudoun only required one win from their final two matches to retain the league trophy, but a 3.5 - 2.5 defeat at Troon Welbeck  not only postponed any Loudoun celebrations, but also gave the Troon club the chance of snatching the title.

The present positions in the title race are :-

Loudoun are at home to Irvine Ravenspark in their final match but need a win to ensure the title for the second successive year, whilst Troon Welbeck travel to bottom club West Kilbride in their final fixture, hoping to record an away win, which would give them the championship if the holders slip up at the final hurdle.
