AYRSHIRE SENIORS LEAGUE - Preparations under way for 2011 competition

Competing clubs met recently to make arrangements for the 2011 Ayrshire Seniors League, the fourth season the competition has taken place.

Annanhill, Caprington and Irvine Ravenspark have withdrawn from the league this year but Prestwick St. Nicholas and West Kilbride have provisionally agreed to join.

With the addition of Prestwick St Nicholas and West Kilbride there will now be 8 teams in the league, which also include Ardeer, Ballochmyle, Kilmarnock Barassie, Kilbirnie Place, Loudoun and Prestwick St Cuthbert.

The league this year will not be played in sections as it has been previously but will comprise one section with each club playing seven matches, either 4 home/3 away or 3 home/4 away.

Matches will be generally be scheduled to be played midweek, during the day.

Although this is not an event administered under the auspices of The Ayrshire Golf Association, we are more than happy to report on results and league positions as the competition progresses and if clubs or organisers wish to forward reports and results to the AGA at ayrshiregolf@fsmail.net  throughout the summer then we will try to keep the golfing public updated on the progress of the competition.
