AYRSHIRE JUNIOR GOLF LEAGUE - Draws made for 2008 competitions

At the first AJGL meeting of 2008, under the Chairmanship of Fleming Gibson (Caprington), on Tuesday 5th February, the draws were made for the 2008 Ayrshire Junior Golf League competitions.

In the LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP, holders Ballochmyle were drawn in Section C, alongside Ayr dalmilling, Kilmarnock Barassie and Caprington, whilst the 2007 runners up, Largs, will contest Section B alongside Irvine Ravenspark, Ayr Belleisle, Prestwick St. Nicholas and Largs Routenburn.

The draw for the four qualifying sections are :-

SECTION A - Kilbirnie Place, West Kilbride, New Cumnock, Troon Welbeck & Troon St. Meddans.
SECTION B - Irvine Ravenspark, Largs, Ayr Belleisle, Prestwick St. Nichola s& Largs Routenburn
SECTION C - Ayr Dalmilling, Kilmarnock Barassie, Caprington & Ballochmle
SECTION D - Loudoun, Ardeer, Annanhill & Prestwick St. Cuthbert

The winners of each section will progress to the semi finals on the competition in August.

In the UNDER 16 KNOCKOUT TROPHY competition, the one preliminary round tie features the holders Kilmarnock (Barassie) who face a tricky opening tie at Ardeer.

The traditional opener to the junior season, The Ayrshire Boys Team Championship will be held at Largs Golf Club on Sunday 13th April, whilst The Ayrshire Boys Championship will take place on 7th August 2008 at Ayr Belleisle.
