AYRSHIRE JUNIOR ORDER OF MERIT - Telfer secures 2012 title

Greg Telfer (Prestwick St Cuthbert) is the 2012 Ayrshire Junior Order Of Merit title winner, after the counting events were concluded this week.

Telfer, the 2012 Ayrshire Boys Matchplay title holder followed his wins in the county matchplay event, Tom Lehman Trophy and Ayr belleisle Boys Open last week with a second place in the Ballochmyle Boys Open and a joint first placiong in the Annanhill Boys Open this week, to post a final total of 763.3 points, almost 300 points ahead of his nearest rival.

Telfer secured points in 10 of the 21 events, with first or joint first places at Annanhill, Caprington, Prestwick St Nicholas, the Tom Lehman, Ayr Belleisle and the Ayrshire Boys matchplay.

David Wilson

 Runner up this year was the 2011 title holder David Wilson (Troon Welbeck), who scored points in 6 of the 21 counting events, including wins at Kilmarnock Barassie and West Kilbride, in his final total of 468 points.

Euan Walker

2012 Ayrshire Boys Champion Euan Walker (Kilmarnock Barassie) took third place this year with 415.33 points, just edging out Jack Thomas (Irvine) by 1.91 points. Walker secured his points in 6 of the 21 counting events, including wins at Largs, Royal Troon and the Ayrshire Boys Championship.
