The Ayrshire Under 18 team fought out a 4 - 4 draw with title holders Dumbartonshire in the latest match in the West Of Scotland Under 18 Inter County League competition for the Wishart Trophy.
Ayrshire went behind early on when debutant Campbell Mathieson crashed to a 8 & 6 defeat but the home side got their noses in from with wins from Murray McCrone & Shaun Hedger.
In what eventually proved a pivotal result, Jack Thomas lost out narrowly on the final green to allow Dumbartonshire to level the match at 2 - 2.
At the tail end of the match, Ayrshire were always under pressure and in the end both Darryl Lynch and Jack McCluskey were defeated, leaving Dumbartonshire 4 - 2 ahead.
In the remaining two ties on the course, both Greg telfer and Staurt Easton held one hole advantages at the final tee and in both cases secured solid par threes to win their respective ties by one hole and give Ayrshire a 4 - 4 draw.

Ayrshire's final game in the 2012 series is on Sunday 9th September against Glasgow at Bishopbriggs.
