THE AYRSHIRE JUG - First round matches completed and four couples through to round three.

The first round matches in the 2024 Ayrshire mixed greensomes knockout competition for The Ayrshire Jug, have been completed, and four couples have already booked their places in round three.

In the remaining first round tie, Carol Moffat & James McGhee (Caprington/Loudoun) won through at the 19th against Kevin Flack & Janet Harkness (Skelmorlie) and are now away to catherine & Alasdair Malcolm (Prestwick St Cuthbert/Belleisle Ladies) in round two.

Jean Capes & Brian Fulton (Largs) had a 4&2 home win over Alan & Susan Pole (Prestwick St Nicholas) in their second round tie, to secure a home tie in round three, while holders Gillian & Billy Pollock (Skelmorlie) opened their defence with a 5&4 win away from home against Liz & John Keohone (Loudoun).

Fran & David Hadden (Kilmarnock Barassie) beat their visitors Scott Singleton & Shirley Anne Steven (Irvine Ravenspark/Irvine)  to progress to round three while Irene & David Hodge (Largs) booked a home tie in the third round with a 4&3 win in the second round against their visitors Kevin Hamilton & Karen Miller (Rowallan Castle).

The remaining twelve second round ties are due to be completed by the 26th of May.
