AYRSHIRE WOMEN'S HANDICAP LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP - Clubs focus in on final sport

With the two qualifying sections in the 2023 Ayrshire Women's Handicap League Championship rapidly heading towards completion, the clubs are battling it out to top the two sections and securing a place in the championship final.

In SECTION A, Loudoun remain just ahead of  Kilmarnock Barassie at the top of the table following a share of the spoils in 2-2 draw between the two clubs at Loudoun in the latest fixture played.

With just two fixtures remaining to be played in the section Troon Welbeck and Prestwick St Cuthbert will contest the third and fourth places in the section whilst Kilmarnock Barassie will host Loudoun in a winner takes all fixture for the final spot.

In SECTION B, three of the four teams involved can still claim a place in the final, with four fixtures remaining to be played.

Caprington remain at the top of the table at present, with all their fixtures completed, but Ballochmyle maintained their title hopes with a 3-1 win away to Belleisle Ladies recently.

As Largs still have two home and two away fixtures to play, it looks like their two remaining matches against Ballochmyle will go a long wat to determining which club secures the place in September's championship final, though Belleisle Ladies will be looking to end the season on a high with their two fixtures against Largs that remain..
