AYRSHIRE BOYS MATCHPLAY CHAMPIONSHIP - Broadfoot brothers remain on course for final showdown.

The Broadfoot brothers, Harvey and Jack, remain on course for a final showdown in the 2022 Ayrshire Boys Matchplay Championship, being held this week at Prestwick Golf Club, after the first round matches were completed on Tuesday the 8th of August.

The Ayrshire Boys Champion Harvey Broadfoot (Royal Troon), who is bidding for a second successive double title win, was up against Finlay Watt (West Kilbride) in the opening round and won through by 3 & 2 to book his place in the last four.

In the semi finals Harvey will play Jamie Hay (Ayr Belleisle) who ended the hopes of Connor Wills (Royal Troon) on the final green of their opening round tie, with a winning birdie three.

Jack Broadfoot (Troon Welbeck) eased through against Oliver Long (Kilmarnock Barassie) by 4 & 2 and in the last four will face Jack Ramsay (Kilmarnock Barassie), who dispatched Drew Cleaver (Ayr Belleisle) by 8 & 6 in their first round tie.

The two semi finals will take place at Prestwick Golf Club on the evening of Wednesday the tenth of August.
