Paul Moultrie
Paul Moultrie (Royal Troon) was the best placed Ayrshire finisher at Duff House Royal this week, when the Scottish Senior Men's Open Strokeplay was held there from Wednesday the 16th to Friday the 18th of June.

Going into the final round as joint leader with the eventual winner, England's Steven Jensen, after successive opening rounds of 67 for a two under par total of 134, Paul Moultrie found himself one behind going to the final hole of the championship but a closing bogey five for a round of 71 saw him finish two strokes adrift of the winner, and in joint runner up place on 205, one over par, for the three rounds of the championship.

Alistair Belford (Prestwick St Nicholas) was in a good position after round two, rounds of 68 and 70 giving him a 2 over par total of 138 and joint 12th position going into the final round, but a closing 75 for a three round total of 213, 9 over par, saw him drop down to joint 24 place overall.

The other three Ayrshire players in the field failed to make the cut for the final round, which fell at 12 over par.

Brian Fisher (Largs) and B J G Bingham (Royal Troon) both missed out by a shot on 149, 13 over par, after rounds of 75 & 74 and 73 & 76 respectively.

Iain McCall (Prestwick St Nicholas) was two shots further back on 151, 15 over par, after rounds of 71 and 80.
