WORLD AMATEUR GOLF RANKINGS - Euan Walker moves into the top ten

Euan Walker (Kilmarnock Barassie) has moved into the top ten  in the Mens' World Amateur Golf Rankings, becoming the highest ranked player in Europe in the process, as the latest standings were released by the R & A this week.

Since the start of 2019 Walker has been in consistently fine form, recording seven top ten finishes in the last ten World Amateur Golf ranking events he has played in, which included a win in the African Amateur Strokeplay Championship, runner up spots in the two recent elite level events, The Amateur Championship and the European Amateur Championship and a third place finish in the English Mens' Amateur Strokeplay Championship for The Brabazon Trophy.

The current top ranked players are:-

1 - Cole Hammer (USA)
2 - Takumi Kanaya           (Japan)
3 - David Micheluzzi (Australia)
4 - Akshay Bhatia (USA)
5 - Chun An Yu (Chinese Taipei)
6 - Brandon Wu (USA)
7 - Chandler Phillips (USA)
8 - Stewart Hagestad (USA)
9 - Steven Fisk (USA)     
10 - Euan Walker (Scotland)       
11 - Eugenio Lopez-Chacarra Coto (Spain)
12 - Isaiah Salinda (USA)


The next ranked Great Britain & Ireland player is Ireland’s Connor Purcell in sixteenth place whilst the next ranked Scot after Euan Walker is  Sandy Scott in fifty first spot.
