Braehead have dropped out of SECTION D of the Ayrshire Handicap
League Championship, having defaulted on a second match during the season due
to player availability issues.
In line with the rules of the competition, all Braehead’s
results in the league so far are declared null and void due to their
withdrawal.
With the recalculation of the tables, Redburn sit on top of
the section, despite a recent 5 – 1 defeat at Moorpark, whilst Moorpark and Beith
are in joint second place after Moorpark beat their visitors from West Kilbride
by 4.5 – 1.5, but lost an important home match to Beith by 3.5 – 2.5.

Annanhill lie in second place at present following a 5 – 1 home
win over Troon St Meddans in their recent encounter, whilst Troon Welbeck and Irvine
Ravenspark maintained their hopes of a qualifying spot with recent home wins by
5 – 1 and 4 – 2 respectively against Troon Merchants.

St Nicholas had a 5 – 1 home win over Stewarton but away defeats by 4 – 2 to
both tam O Shanter and Ayr Seafield dented their qualification hopes a little.
After a slow
start to the campaign, Royal Troon beat their visitors from Ayr Seafield by 4.5
– 1.5 and gained a 3 – 3 draw away to Largs Routenburn to maintain some hope of
qualification, whilst in the other match completed recently Stewarton had a 3.5
– 2.5 away win at Largs Routenburn.

In SECTION A, Ballochmyle hold a slim lead at the top of the
table despite recent away defeats by 4 – 2 against Alton and 6 – 0 at Rowallan
Castle.
A 5 – 1 home win over Ayr Belleisle and a 3 – 3 draw in the
return fixture at Ayr saw Rowallan Castle move into second place in the table,
just behind Ballochmyle, whilst in the other fixtures played recently Ayr
Belleisle fought out a 3 – 3 draw with their visitors from Auchenharvie 88 and
Prestwick St Cuthbert had a home win over Ayr Belleisle by 3.5 – 2.5.
