All the first round matches in the 2018 Ayrshire Fourball Championship were completed on schedule by Sunday 22nd April.In the outstanding ties, Stephen Hannah & Chris Bradley (Ayr Belleisle) won by 3&2 on their home turf against Ryan Muir and Daniel Webster (Prestwick St Cuthbert) and will travel to play Brian Richmond & Alan Stewart Jr. (Stewarton) in round two, after the Stewarton duo recorded a one hole win on their visit to play Ross Dunlop & Craig Reid (Doon Valley) in round one.
Brian Kennedy & Graham Campbell (Loudoun) will host Paul & Sam Steven (Prestwick St Nicholas) in the second round. The Loudoun duo had a 3&2 away win in round one against James Donohoe & Ian Paterson (Auchenharvie 88) whilst the St Nicholas pairing recorded a single hole victory at home to Alan Smeeton & Brian Stewart (The Chase) to progress.
In the other outstanding first round tie, brothers George & David McCulloch (Brunston Castle), who have won the title on two previous occasions, had a crushing 6&5 home win over Joe Wilkinson & William Douglas (Largs) to book a visit to Ayr Carrick in round two.
