AYRSHIRE CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS - McEwan wins battle of past winners to book second round place

Two time winner Steven McEwan  (Caprington) won the battle of the former winners against Scott Brown (Turnberry) to book a place in the second round of this years Ayrshire Champion Of Champions Trophy competition.

McEwan, who won the title in 2012 & 2013, had a 6 & 4 home win over 2011 winner Brown to progress, and now faces an away tie against either Iain McKenzie (Saxone) or another former champion in 2008 winner Paul Moultrie (Royal Troon) in round two.

Also through to the second round are Kevin O'Neill (Alton) and Andrew Power (Troon Portland) with home wins over James McIntyre (Moorpark) and Tony Fraser (Annanhill) respectively.

O'Neill is away to Frank Murdoch (Brunston Castle) in round two whilst Power has a home match against Kevin Coupland (Malletsheugh).
