WEST OF SCOTLAND UNDER 18 INTER COUNTY LEAGUE - Ayrshire defeat Glasgow at Bishopbriggs.

Ayrshire got the better of  hosts Glasgow at Bishopbriggs on Sunday 6th July in the latest fixture in the 2014 West Of Scotland Inter County League, returning home with a 5 - 3 win over the home side.
Murray McCrone (Troon Welbck) got Ayrshire off to the best possible start, converting a two hole lead after eight into a 4 & 3 win over David almond (Haggs Castle)
 
Ross McDonald (Irvine) found himself two behind after eight en route to a 4 & 3 defeat.
 
Elliot Spence (Loudoun) was one ahead after eight but after winning the ninth and tenth he raced to a 6 & 4 victory.
 
In the other Under 16 tie, Andrew Gordon (Ayr Belleisle) lost the sixteenth to go one behind after squaring the match after fifteen, and lost out to a birdie at the final hole from Lewis Smith (Ralston).
 
Ayrshire pressed home their advantage in the under 18 ties, taking three of the four to win the match.
 
Jordan Fraser (Ayr Belleisle) had a two hole lead after eight homes that was extended to three ahead after thirteen before closing out the match by 5 & 4. Jack Thomas (Irvine) was two ahead throughout most of his match on his way to a 2 & 1 win.
 
Luke Murdoch (Loudoun) was always in control of his tie, which finished with a 5 & 4 win for him, whilst Connor McKay (Loudoun) never recovered from losing the second and third holes, eventually losing out by 4 & 3.

The next matches in the series take place on Sunday 20th July when Lanarkshire are at home to Dumbartonshire at Airdrie and Stirlingshire host Renfrewshire at Callander.
