BELLEISLE CUP - Smyth wins 36 hole Ayr event

Ayrshire Matchplay Champion Michael Smyth (Royal Troon) won the Belleisle Cup  on Sunday 3^rd June at Ayr Belleisle, edging out Craig Hamilton (Ballochmyle) and Stuart White (Girvan) by a single shot in the 36 hole tournament.

 

Smyth returned rounds of 71 & 70 for his winning total of 141.

First round leader Keith Hamilton (Ayr Belleisle) carded a 68 in the morning and looked likely to challenge Smyth for the trophy until two late double bogeys at the 16^th and 18^th  ended his hopes.
