AYRSHIRE CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS - Holder McEwan marches on to quarter finals.

Defending champion Steven McEwan (Caprington) is still on track to retain his title after he became the first player to book a place in the quarter finals of the 2013 Ayrshire Champion Of Champions Trophy competition.

Facing a difficult away tie against former Ayrshire Strokeplay Champion John Shanks (Irvine), McEwan ran out a comfortable 5 & 3 winner to secure his place in the last eight.

In the quarter finals, McEwan will be away from home against either Iain McKenzie (Largs Routenburn) or David Sloan (Doon Valley).
