MARY MCKENNA TROPHY - Ireland pip Scotland to retain trophy

Despite a spirited Scotland comeback, Ireland just managed to hold onto the Mary McKenna Trophy with a 6.5 - 5.5 overall win in the two day challenge, played at West Kilbride on Sunday 14th and Monday 15th April.

Although Ireland led 3.5 - 0.5 after the foursomes on Sunday, Scotland fought back and just fell short of a dramatic comeback win.

Both the Ayrshire players in the Scotland side, Jane Finnie (Troon ladies) and Alex Glennie (Kilmarnock Barassie) were defeated in their respective singles matches on Monday.
