HOME INTERNATIONALS - Scotland triumph at gailes


The Scotland mens team won the Home Internationals at Glasgow gailes on Friday 17 August, their first win in the series since 2006.

After defeating wales on The final day, Scotland took the Raymond Trophy by virtue of the best tie difference over the thrre matches, following a three way tie alongside England & Ireland.


Scotland beat Wales by 9.5 - 5.5 in their final match, whilst in the other match England defeated the previously unbeaten Ireland team by 9.5 - 5.5.

Jack McDonald (Kilmarnock Barassie) again made a significant contribution to the Scots win.

In the morning foursomes, McDonald again teamed up with Graeme Robertson to record a 3 & 1 win over James Frazer & Luke Thomas.

In the afternoon singles, McDonald suffered his only defeat of the week, losing out by one hole to Will Jones, leaving him with 4.5 points out of a possible 5 over the three day series.
