Glasgow's Alasdair Forsythe, a third-year student at Davis and Elkins College, Elkins in West Viriginia, has beaten a final of 65 players to win the West Virginia IAC Central Regional men's college tournament over 36 holes at Canaan Valley Golf Club at Davis, West Virginia.
Alasdair, pictured right, had rounds of 65 and 69 for a splendid 10-under-par total of 10-under 134 over a longish par-72 course of 6,984yd. He won by two strokes.
His 65 was the joint lowest score of the two-day tournament.
Team-mate Ciar Porciani, a freshman from Ayrshire - he is a member of Ayr Belleisle Golf Club - finished a creditable 10th on 145 with scores of 73 and 72.

Ciar, pictured left, has played county golf for Ayrshire at boys and youths' level.
A third Davis and Elkins student, Christopher Young from Cardross, finished T38 on 152 with scores of 77 and 75.
Despite the good efforts of Messrs Forsyth and Porciani, Davis and Elkins did not win the team event. They finished third in fact in a field of 13 teams behind winners Charleston (561) and Concord (575). Davis and Elkins totalled 579.
