Ayrhsire suffered a second successive defeat on Tuesday in the 2010 West Of Scotland Ladies Inter County matches, being held this week at Kilmacolm GC.
It was always an uphill struggle for Ayrshire against Dumbarton & Argyll, after losing the morning foursomes by 3 - 0, although the team almost fought back by winning four of the six singles ties in the afternoon, but ultimately being beaten 5 - 4 in the match.

In the other match, Renfrewshire, the defending champions, secured a second successive win when they defeated Lanarkshire and now look set to retain the West title.
