Jack McDonald (Kilmarnock Barassie) fnished best of the three Ayrshire players who made the halfway cut in the Scottish Youths Championship played at Monifieth at the weekend.
McDonald, the reigning Scottish Boys Strokeplay Champion was tied 15th on 11 over par, 16 shots behind the runaway winner Maximilian Rottluff (Germany), after rounds of 72, 74, 74 & 75.
First round leader Scott Brown (Turnberry) finished tied 17th on 12 over par after rounds of 69, 77, 73 & 77, whilst Marc Smith (Troon Welbeck) finished joint 19th on 13 over par with rounds of 74, 77, 73 & 73.
