DAVID GEMMELL - Former Belleisle Professional passes away

We are sorry to advise that the former Ayr Belleisle professional David Gemmell died suddenly on Wednesday night.

David was well known in local golfing circles, serving as professional at Ayr Dalmilling for a number of years before taking over the post at Ayr Belleisle after the retirement of John Easey.

When David retired from the Belleisle job a couple of years ago, he was replaced by his assistant, the present serving professional Richard Gordon.

During his retirement David continued to enjoy many a round of golf with both amateur golfers and many of his friends from the professional ranks.

Davids untimely death will come as a great shock to all who knew him and our sympathies go to his family at this time.

It is understood that the funeral will be held at Ayr Crematorium at 2.00 p.m. on Tuesday 16th March.
