West Kilbride Golf Club, who last won the championship in 2005, gained revenge for defeat in the 2008 final against Largs when they won the 2009 League Championship against the defending champions in the final on Sunday 20th September.
As West Kilbride hold the chair of the Ayrshire Junior Golf League this year, the finals were scheduled early in the year to be played on the West Kilbride Links, and the efforts of the West Kilbride team in reaching the final gave a condsiderable advantage to the host club side.
The team made good use of the advantage on a chilly and blustery afternoon to win 4.5 -1.5 against the title holders.
