LADIES GOLF UNION - Further honour for Nancy Chisholm

Report from Colin Farquharson

Ayrshire's Nancy Chisholm (nee Smillie) is one of four former office-bearers invited by the Ladies Golf Union executive council to become honorary vice-presidents of the ruling body of women's amateur golf in Great Britain & Ireland.

In 2004, Prestwick St. Nicholas conferred Honorary Membership on Nancy in recognition of her outstanding contribution to golf in Scotland and further afield.

Nancy is also a member and past captain of West Kilbride Ladies, a club which holds her in equally high esteem as St. Nicholas for her contribution to club and country over the years.

Commenting on her latest honour, Nancy said :-

“I'm thrilled to be invited to become an honorary vice-president of LGU, which I hold in high esteem.

The other new honorary vice-presidents are Joan Neville (Wales), Catherine Booth (Ireland) and Sue Johnson (England).
