AYRSHIRE JUNIOR ORDER OF MERIT - Stewart leads after national performances

Despite only counting in two events so far, the national stature of the events concerned has propelled Michael Stewart (Troon Welbeck) - pictured right -to the top of the Ayrshire Junior Order Of Merit, with eight counting events completed.

Stewart's performance in the Scottish Boys Championship in April was surpassed by his runners up spot in this the Scottish Boys Strokeplay this week at Cardrona.

Previous leader, Euan Brown (Kilmarnock Barassie) is in second place and Scott Brown (Turnberry) lies joint third with Malcolm Pennycott (Whiting Bay), after Brown's win in the Pollock Trophy competition at Kilmarnock (Barassie).

Results from the Welbeck Boys Open and the Caprington Boys Open have still to be added.
