JUNIOR ORDER OF MERIT - Robin moves to the top at halfway stage

Stuart Robin (Prestwick St. Nicholas) has edged ahead of Steven McEwan (Kilmarnock Barassie) as the contest for the Junior Order Of Merit reaches the halfway stage.

In the latest round of results, Andrew Abercrombie (Largs) took the honours in the 36 hole West Kilbride boys open with a 144 total, 4 ahead of nearest rival Lloyd Smith (Kilmarnock Barassie).

At the Prestwick St. Nicholas Junior Open, home player Stuart Robin took maximum points with his 67 being the best scratch of the day, one ahead of Jamie Mackay (Kilmarnock Barassie), the early leader in this seasons Order Of Merit.

At The Gareth Ferguson Trophy event at Ardeer, home advantage led to John Shanks of the host club taking full points, with a scratch 72. Graeme Gimson (St. Cuthbert) trailed Shanks by three shots for second overall. Malcolm Pennycott (Whiting Bay) gained points for the third time this season, with a 5th place at Ardeer.
