DOC THOM AYRSHIRE ORDER OF MERIT - Gowf Cup win moves Craig Hamilton into pole position

A win in the 36 hole Gowf Cup on Sunday the 30th of June moved Craig Hamilton (Ballochmyle)  into pole position in the 2024 Ayrshire Order of Merit for the Doc Thom Salver, with just eight counting events remaining to be played this season.

A two round total of 136 gave Hamilton the Gowf Cup by a single shot from John Haggarty (Loudoun), who moved up to fourth in the Order of merit table as a result, while third place went to the 2024 Ayrshire Strokeplay Champion Gavin Chesney (Kilbirnie Place) who moved into second spot in the Order of Merit as a result.

The next national counting event is the Men's Scottish Amateuir Championship while the next local qualifying competitions are the Stevenson Trophy at Girvan and the Viking Krus at Largs.

 The current positions in the Order of Merit table are:-
