SCOTTISH OPEN STROKEPLAY CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFYING - Four Ayrshire players secure places at Gullane

Four Ayrshire players succesfully secured one of the 36 places available for the Scottish Open Strokpleay Championship, to be held at The Honorable Company of Edinburgh Golfers' home at Muirfield from the 31st May to the 2nd June, when the qualifying event was held at Gullane No. 2 course on Tuesday the 28th of May.

Leading qualifiers were England's Jack Drury and Charlie Gillespie (St Andrews New) who carded 6 under par scores of 65. The cut fell at even par 71.

Leading the Ayrshire qualifiers was Harvey Broadfoot (Troon Welbeck) with a three under par 68, one shot ahead of Craig Hamilton (Ballochmyle) and Harvey McDonald (Turnberry) who both finished on two under par, 69.

Malcolm Pennycott (Whiting Bay) was the fourth Ayrshire qualifier after carding  a one under par 70.

72 (+1) - Kevin Thomas (Troon St Meddans)   

74 (+3) - Louis Alberts (Troon St Meddans)

75 (+4) - Alyx Murray (Kilmarnock Barassie)

78 (+7) - Daniel Forbes (Irvine)

RTD (+10) - Craig Chalmers (Western Gailes)
