AYRSHIRE SCRATCH LEAGUES - Prestwick St Cuthbert win division 2 title

Prestwick St Cuthbert have won the Division 2 title in the Ayrshire Scratch leagues, and will return to Division 1 next season, at the first time of asking.

A 5-1 home win in their final fixture of the campaign, at home to Troon Portland, gave the St Cuthbert team an unassailable lead at the top of the table.

With just five fixtures remaining to be played in Division 2 Caprington, Ayr Belleisle and Turnberry can all still clinch a play off spot for promotion to Division 1.

In DIVISION 1, Royal Troon remain in pole position after a 3-3 draw in their recent home match against Loudoun, who themselves eased their relegation worries with a 5-1 home win over Ballochmyle in their latest fixture. Ballochmyle's hopes of avoiding automatic relegation with a 3-3 draw at home to Irvine recently, whilst Kilmarnock Barassie kept their title hopes afloat with a 4.5 - 1.5 win at home to largs, which ended any chances of winning the title for the North Ayrshire club, who slipped to second bottom in the table after the recent series of matches.

Royal Troon can secure the title with a win in their next fixture at Ballochmyle, whilst their hosts will be determined to secure the points to aid their survival fight. With just six fixtures remaining to be played, present positions in Division 1 are:-

In Division 3b, Girvan finished their fixtures with a 4.5 - 1.5 home win over Redburn which moved Girvan to the top of the table with just the result of the Ardeer vs Troon Welbeck match remaining to be confirmed.
