AYRSHIRE JUNIOR ORDER OF MERIT - Sean Hillis moves to top of the table after Largs success

Sean Hillis (Kilmarnock Barassie) has moved to the top of the Ayrshire Junior order of merit table after taking top spot in the latest qualifying event, the Largs Junior Open.

A scratch score of 71 was four ahead of his nearest challengers, the West Kilbride trio of Dylan Scally, Euan Forrest and Finlay Watt, on 75. Lyle Vogwell (West Kilbride) and Ryan Kennedy (Irvine) also picked up order of merit points with their scores of 77 and 79 respectively.

In the previous qualifying event, the Byrne Howard Junior Open at Royal Troon, Hillis shared top points with Ryan Kennedy, Scott Newman (Royal Troon) and Euan Stirling (Troon Welbeck) after all four returned scratch scores of  75 over the Portland course. 

Harris Fleming (Royal Troon), Oliver Kane (Royal Troon) and Jack Broadfoot (Troon Welbeck) also recorded order of merit points in the event with their respective scratch scores of 76, 78, and 79
