AYRSHIRE MEN'S MATCHPLAY CHAMPIONSHIP - semi final line up confirmed

The semi final line up in the 2023 Ayrshire Men's Matchplay Championship was confirmed when the four quarter final matches were completed in fine weather at Loudoun Gowf Club on Tuesday the 9th of May. 

The first semi final will be between Barry O'Rourke (Caprington) and Kevin Thomas (Prestwick St Cuthbert).

Kevin Thomas beat clubmate and Prestwick St Cuthbert GC Club Captain Mark Watt at the first extra hole in their quarter final tie, whilst Barry O'Rourke had a 2&1 victory over Brian Fisher (Largs) to progress to the last four.

The second semi final will feature Blair Morton (Royal Troon) and Aidan Long (Ayr Belleisle).

Blair Morton beat Louis Alberts (Troon St Meddans) by two holes in their quarter final match whilst Aidan Long secured a place in the semi finals courtesy of a 3&2 victory over Harvey Broadfoot.  in the quarter finals.

The two semi finals are scheduled to take place at Loudoun Gowf Club on Wednesday the 10th of May. with the final scheduled to be held the following day.
