AYRSHIRE MEN'S CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS TROPHY - Two results awaited to complete third round line up

Just two results are awaited in the Ayrshire men's Champion of Champions Trophy competition, before the line up for the third round is confirmed.

In recent second round ties, James McIntyre (Redburn) received a walkover from Charles Coyle (Tam O Shanter) and will visit either Mark McLelland (Girvan) or the title holder Blair Morton (Royal Troon) in the last sixteen, whilst Aidan Long (Ayr Belleisle) booked a third round visit to play Robbie Macinnes (Rowallan Castle) after his second round victory by 2&1 over his visitor Barry McDonnell (Stewarton).

Playing at home in the second round, Cameron Aitken (Largs) beat Ryan Morrison (Ayr Seafield) by 5&4 to set up a home tie in the third round against Kierean Reid (Alton).

|In the third round Gordon Johnston (Kilbirnie Place) will be at home to Sam Findlater (Braehead) who had a notable victory at home by a single hole over Daniel Forbes (Irvine) in their second round encounter.

Robbie Stewart (Troon Portland) will host Robert Adams (Abbotsford) in the third round after Stewart had a home win by 7&6 over Alan Smeeton (The Chase) in round two and Adams had a 2&1 win at home to Andy MacDonald (Auchenharvie 88).

John R Anderson (Skelmorlie) had a 6&5 home win over Paul Prichard (Prestwick Centre) in round two, and will be at home in the last sixteen against Craig Hamilton (Ballochmyle), who came out on top by 3&2 in the clash of two former winners when he visited Steven McEwan (Caprington) in the second round.

The remaining two second round ties, featuring David Robertson (Prestwick St Cuthbert) Vs Andrew Thomson (Routenburn) and Mark McClelland (Girvan) Vs the trophy holder Blair Morton (Royal Troon), are due to be completed by Sunday the 21st of May.
