AYRSHIRE FOURBALL CHAMPIONSHIP - Opening ties played in 2023 competition

Many of the opening ties in the first round have been played in the 2023 Ayrshire Fourball Championship recently, with the remaining first round ties due to be completed by Sunday the 23rd of April.

George McDonald & Peter Clark (Troon St Meddans) had an away win against mark Reilly &Denis Taggart (Malletsheugh) and will be away in round two against the representatives of either Stewarton or Alton.

After a 3&2 first round home win over Robert J Wraith & Robert Wraith (Largs), the Ayr Carrick pairing of Robert Martin & Andrew McMorland will travel to either  redburn or Troon Welbeck in round two.

Les Knox & Wullie Young (Auchenharvie 88) had a home win over Billy jack & David Mackie (West Kilbride), and will now entertain the pairing from either Kilmarnock Barassie or Prestwick Centre in round two.

Ayr Belleisle's Chris Rimmer & Gordon McAndrew will also be at home in round two, against either Rowallan Castle or Drongan, following their 2 & 1 home win over near neighbours Blair McKee & Andy Kilday (Ayr Seafield) in round one.


Skelmorlie's Billy Pollok & Sandy Riddell won their first round tie by 4 & 3 against  Robert Liddell & Wilhelm Smith (Caprington) and will now host Steven Gallacher & Stuart Reid (Routenburn) in round two, after the Routenburn pair had a single hole victory at home to Michael Henderson & Gary Gorman (Troon Portland) in the opening round.

Aaron Cameron & Mark Hainey (Prestwick St Nicholas) booked a home tie against either Girvan or Annanhill in round two, following their first round victory by two holes over their visitors kevin Gilmour & Kevin Campbell of Portmann.
