SCOTTISH MEN'S AREA TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP FINALS - Ayrshire team named for Powfoot

The Ayrshire team for the Men’s Area Team Championship finals, to be held at Powfoot GC from the 2^nd to the 4^th of September, has been announced.

Former Scotland internationalist STEVEN McEWAN (Caprington) who previously tasted success in the event when Ayrshire won the title at Tain in 2008, is joined in the team again by JOHN SHANKS (Irvine), who was also a member of the winning team at Tain, and was successful again as part of the Ayrshire side who last won the title at Blairgowrie in 2015.

Also in the team from the successful 2015 side is 2022 Ayrshire Strokeplay Champion SCOTT BROWN (Turnberry), along with the new Ayrshire Champion of Champions Trophy winner BLAIR MORTON (Royal Troon), 2021 Ayrshire Matchplay Champion CRAIG TELFER (Turnberry) and the winner of multiple Ayrshire titles over the years, MICHAEL SMYTH (Royal Troon).

Ayrshire will contest the semi finals and final against Borders, Perth & Kinross and North East districts, with the draw for the semi final line up to be made immediately prior to the finals weekend.
