SCOTTISH MEN'S AREA TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP - Debut in six man team for Adam Sweeney at Downfield

The Ayrshire team to play Angus County at Downfield GC on Sunday the 5th of June, in the second qualifying section match of the 2022 Scottish Men's Area Team Championship, has been announced, with Adam Sweeney (Prestwick St Cuthbert) being selected for his debut in the six man team event.

Ayrshire Strokeplay Champion Scott Brown (Turnberry), John Shanks (Irvine) Blair Morton (Royal Troon) and John Haggarty (Loudoun) remain from the team that defeated South of Scotland at Royal Troon in the first fixture in May, with Adam Sweeney and Michael Smyth (Royal Troon) being drafted in to replace Keith Hamilton (Royal Troon) and Craig Telfer (Turnberry) from the team who played the opening match.

Angus lost their opening fixture by 6-3 to Dumbartonshire at Cardross.
