SCOTTISH BOYS CHAMPIONSHIP - Six of eight Ayrshire players qualify for matchplay stages

Six of the eight strong Ayrshire contingent taking part in the 2021 Scottish Boys Championship, being played at Bruntsfield links from the 14th to the 18th of July, successfully qualified for the matchplay stages following completion of the two strokeplay qualifying rounds on Thursday the 15th of July.

The qualifiers were led by Blairgowrie's  Gregor Graham who had an outstanding 14 under par total over the two rounds, which included a course record score in the opening round on Wednesday.

The best placed Ayrshire player was Cameron Johnston (Kilmarnock Barassie) who qualified in 7th place on two under par. John McCracken (Kilmarnock Barassie), Harvey Broadfoot (Troon Welbeck) and Dylan Cairns (Royal Troon) all finished on 3 over par to qualify in 23rd, 24th and 26th place respectively, whilst Connor Wills (Royal Troon) and Max Barclay (Ayr Belleisle)  both finished on 6 over par to qualify in 36th and 38th place.

Ryan Stribling (Turnberry) and Scott Numan (Royal Troon) missed out on qualifying, finishing in 89th and 92nd places on 20 over par and 21 over par respectively.

The matchplay begins on Friday morning, the 16th of July, and continues both morning and afternoon over the weekend.

In the first round of the matchplay Cameron Johnstone plays Logan Glatley (Sandyhills), the tie scheduled to tee off at 10.00 am.

10.24 am - John McCracken Vs Ewan Cuthbert (Nairn)

08.06 am - Harvey Broadfoot Vs Fraser Laird (Kemnay)

10.08 am - Dylan Cairns Vs Alex McGillivray (Nairn)

08.22 am - Connor Wills Vs Harry Bent (Gullane)

11.22 am - Max Barclay Vs Daniel Bullen (Auchterarder)
