ST ANDREWS LINKS TROPHY - Ruben Lindsay misses out by a shot

Ruben Lindsay (Turnberry) finished in joint third place in the 2021 St Andrews Links Trophy, played over the Jubilee and Old Course in St Andrews from the 4th to the 6th of June, missing out on a place in the play off for the trophy by a single shot.

The trophy was won by England’s Jack Cope who beat his fellow countryman Robin Williams and Scotland’s George Burns in a play off over the first and eighteenth holes of the Old Course after the trio had tied on 280, 8 under par.

Ruben Lindsay finished in a group of six players on 7 under par after closing rounds of 68 and 67 on the Old Course on Sunday gave him a total of 281.

Jack Broun (Turnberry) closed with rounds of 70 and 72 for a two under par total of 286 whilst the other Ayrshire player in the field, Stuart Easton (Irvine)closed with rounds of 75 and 74 for a four over par total of 292.
