AYRSHIRE HANDICAP LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP - latest update on qualifying sections

Matches have been played recently in all seven qualifying sections in the 2021 Ayrshire handicap League Championship recently, as clubs attempt to qualify for the later knockout stages.







In SECTION A, home victories, by 4 - 2 and 3.5 – 2.5 over Turnberry and Kilbirnie Place respectively, has moved West Kilbride to the top of the table ahead of Moorpark.

In SECTION B, Kilmarnock Barassie and Rowallan Castle are locked together at the top of the table following  their recent 3 – 3 draw over the Rowallan Castle course, a scoreline that Rowallan Castle repeated in their recent visit to Ardeer.

In SECTION C, Ballochmyle remain well out in front, with Loudoun emerging as their nearest challengers after a 4.5 – 1.5 away win at Ayr Belleisle. Present positions in Section C are:-

In SECTION D, things look very tight in the chase for the qualifying position, with Auchenharvie 88 beating Annahill by 4.5 – 1.5 at home and Caprington having a 4 – 2 home win over Stewarton in recent fixtures.

In SECTION F, Redburn moved to the top of the table with a 4 – 2 home win over Alton, whilst Alton had a 6 – 0 win over Routenburn in their opening home fixture.

In SECTION G, the hopes of Prestwick St Cuthbert were dented by a narrow 3.5 – 2.5 home defeat by Royal Troon in their latest fixture, whilst Troon St Meddans goth their challenge back on track with a 5.5 – 0.5 home win over Tam O Shanter.
