The 2019 Ayrshire Fourball Championship competition has
reached the quarter final stage, with the remaining four third round matches
being completed this week.
James Chalmers & William Walkinshaw (Glacier) will play
host to Frank Grant and Hugh Wales (Ardeer) after the Ardeer players had a 2
hole away victory over William Jackson & William McCafferty (Largs
Routenburn) in their third round clash.
Alan Glass & Andy Dunlop (Prestwick St Cuthbert) beat
Scott & Martin Cairns (Kilbirnie Place) by 3 & 2 at home in their third
round encounter, and the St Cuthbert pairing are at home again in the quarter
finals, where they take on William Fleming & David Moore (Ballochmyle).
In the bottom half of the draw, one of the quarter finals
features Jamie Clark & Paul Robertson (Wallacetown) who are at home to John
McGinn & James Brown (New Cumnock) whilst Stuart Wilson & James Mason
(NB Parkstone) have the benefit of a home tie in the last eight after they
defeated John Boyd & John Dodd (Troon Merchants) at the first extra hole in
their third round match.
In the last eight encounter, the NB Parkstone pair face
Eddie Gilmour & Neil McPherson (Tam O Shanter) who beat Andrew Brown &
Kirk Ramsay (Redburn) by two holes to progress.
The quarter final ties are due to be completed by 28th
July.
