AYRSHIRE HANDICAP LEAGUE - Latest positions in the chase for semi final places

The chase for the four semi final places in the Ayrshire Handicap League Championship is hotting up after recent results in all four qualifying sections.


Royal Troon and Braehead are locked to gether at the top of SECTION A. Braehead had a 3.5 - 2.5 win at Moorpark recently and eefeated Royal Troon 4 – 2 at home, to boost their qualification hopes.

Moorpark kept their qualification hopes alive with a 6 – 0 home win against Loudoun,

Ayr Dalmilling moved into mid table with a 3.5 – 2.5 home win over Troon merchants, who are still looking for their first points of the campaign following a 4 – 2 defeat at Kilmarnock (Barassie).

In SECTION B, Troon Welbeck moved to the top of the table after a 3 – 3 home draw with Irvine Ravenspark recently, with Beith close behind courtesy of a 4.5 – 1.5 home win over Troon St Meddans and a 4 – 2 away win against Auchenharvie 88.

Despite their home defeat to Beith, Auchenharvie remain in contention following a 4 – 2 home win over Toon St Meddans whilst Prestwick St Cuthbert kept their hopes of qualification alive with a 5 – 1 home win over Largs Routenburn.

In SECTION C, a 5.5 – 0.5 win at home over Annanhill moved Kilbirnie Place to the top of the table, just ahead of Ballochmyle who kept the pressure on with a 4.5 – 1.5 home win over Troon Portland recently.

Troon Portland moved into third place in the table with a 3 – 3 draw away to Stewarton and a 4.5 – 1.5 home win against Drongan.
