AYRSHIRE FOURBALL CHAMPIONSHIP - Third round line up confirmed

The line up for the third round of the 2018 Ayrshire Fourball Championship has been confirmed, following completion of the remaining second round ties at the weekend.

In recent matches, Paul & Sam Steven (Prestwick St Nicholas) secured an away tie in round three at Ayr Belleisle, following a 3&2 win in their second round tie away to Brian Kennedy & Graham Campbell (Loudoun).

Three time winners David & George M kept their title hopes for 2018 going with a 2&1 win away to Steven Gray & Scott McNeill (Ayr Carrick). The Brunston Castle pair will be at home to Kirk Ramsay & Jeremy Gittind (Redburn) in round three, after the redburn pair had a 4&3 home win over Sandy Currie & Robert Gilmour (Troon St Meddans) in round two.

Jonathan & Craig Wallace (Caprington) had a single hole victory over their visitors James Beattie & W Kippen (Ardeer) to move into the third round, where they will be at home to Kevin & Darren Thomas (Troon Welbeck)

Gordon Wilson & John Alexander (New Cumnock) beat their visitors Eric Armour & Michael McArthur (Abbotsford) by two holes in their second round match and were due to be at home to the winners of the tie between Skelmorlie and Drongan in the third round. Unfortunately, as no effort had been made by either club to arrange their second round tie, both the pairings from Skelmorlie and Drongan were scratched from the tournament, which resulted in the New Cumnock duo receiving a bye into the quarter finals.
