SCOTTISH AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP - Alyx Murray leads the Ayrshire challenge

Alyx Murray (Troon Welbeck) leads the Ayrshire challenge for a place in the last 64 of the Scottish Amateur Championship, played this week at Prestwick and Prestwick St Cuthbert golf clubs.

A three under par 68 at St Cuthbert on Monday leaves Murray in with a great chance of gaining a place in the matchplay stages this year.

Sandy Scott (Nairn) leads the way after a five under par opening round of 66 at Prestwick.
