Despite Scotland losing all three of their matches in the Mens Home Internationals at Moortown Golf Club in Leeds last week, Ayrshire’s Euan Walker (Kilmarnock Barassie) put in a very creditable performance in his first full international appearance.

On the first day Scotland lost 9 – 6 to England.

Euan Walker did not feature in the foursomes in the morning, which Scotland lost 4 – 1, but in the afternoon singles, which were shared 5 – 5, Walker had a one hole victory over Jack Gaunt.

On the second day Scotland faced the defending champions Ireland and went down 10 – 5.

In the morning foursomes, which Scotland lost again by 4 – 1, Euan Walker and Ryan Lumsden were the only winners, beating Alex Gleeson and Rowan Lester by 5 & 4.

In the afternoon singles, which Scotland lost 4 – 2, Walker suffered his only defeat of the week, going down by 3 & 2 to Rowan Lester.

On the final day Scotland faced a wooden spoon showdown with Wales but lost 9.5 – 5.5 to finish in last place in the series.

Euan Walker again teamed up with Ryan Lumsden in the morning foursomes but lost by 4 & 3 to Tim Harry & Ben Chamberlain as Scotland lost the foursomes 3.5 – 1.5. In the afternoon singles he completed a good performance for the week, taking 3 points from a possible 5,  with a 4 & 3 win over Tim Harry.
