The Four major Ayrshire Junior Golf League competitions are nearing a conclusion, as teams and players battle it out for a place in one of the finals which will take place at Troon Darley on 10th and 17th September.
In the JUNIOR CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS TROPHY competition,
Ruben Lindsay (Ayr Belleisle) is through to the final after beating Fraser
Murray (West Kilbride) by 7 & 6 at Belleisle in their semi final match
recently.
In the final, Lindsay will play either Blair Fleming (Troon
Welbeck) or Kyle Brown (Turnberry). The outstanding semi final is due to be
completed by Sunday 10th September with the final scheduled to take
place at Troon Darley on Sunday 17th September
In the WALLACE THORNTON TROPHY competition, the two semi
finals are due to be completed by Sunday 3rd September, with the
final taking place at Troon Darley on Sunday 10th September.
Troon Welbeck were held to a 2 – 2 draw at home to
Kilmarnock Barassie in the first leg of their semi final, whilst both legs of
the other semi final between Irvine and Turnberry have still to be completed.
In the UNDER 16 KNOCKOUT COMPETITION, the two semi finals,
featuring Troon Welbeck against West Kilbride and Prestwick St Cuthbert against
Kilmarnock Barassie are due to be completed by Sunday 3rd September,
with the final scheduled to take place on Sunday 10th September at
Troon Darley.
In the AYRSHIRE JUNIOR GOLF LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP, Irvine lead
SECTION A ahead of Troon Welbeck with just a few fixtures remaining to be
played.
