AYRSHIRE CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS - Smyth remains on course for title

Michael Smyth (Royal Troon) is just one match away from an appearance in the semi final of the 2017 Ayrshire Champion Of Champions Trophy competition, on his home course, after winning his third round tie last week.


Smyth, who won the Royal Troon Club  Championship for the fourth time this week, crushed up and coming youngster Jack Broun (Ayr Belleisle) by 6 & 5 in their third round clash at Troon to progress to the last eight where he will be at home to Scott ireland (Prestwick St Nicholas).


The four quarter final matches, which are due to be completed by 23rd July, are :-

MICHAEL SMYTH (Royal Troon) Vs. SCOTT IRELAND (Prestwick St Nicholas)

DAVID MACDONALD (Largs) Vs. ROBERT ADAMS (Abbotsford)

GRAEME GIMSON (Prestwick St Cuthbert) Vs. IAIN FRASER (Troon Portland)

STEVEN STAMPER (Turnberry) Vs. GORDON MUNRO (Caprington)

The semi finals will be played at Royal Troon on Friday 4th August with the final taking place the following Friday, 11th August, again at Royal Troon.
